Do I need to book?
It’s safer, especially Friday to Sunday: call us on +33 4 65 71 48 52.
How much should I budget?
Allow €30 to €45 a head, with an antipasto, a pizza and a glass of wine. In the evening, the degustazione brings the whole menu to the table.
Can I bring the kids?
Please do: we have high chairs, and a small Margherita for them, cut into slices.
Do you have gluten-free pizza?
No gluten-free dough: flour flies everywhere around the bench, and we couldn’t promise there would be no traces. Some antipasti and dolci are gluten-free.
Are there meat-free pizzas?
Yes: the Marinara, Margherita, Ortolana, Pomodorini, Quattro formaggi and Funghi e tartufo. The Marinara is vegan.
What about allergies?
Allergen information for every pizza is available. Tell us about any allergy when you book and the bench will plan for it.
How do I get there, and where do I park?
We’re in Vieux-Nice, a two-minute walk from the Cathédrale – Vieille-Ville tram stop. The Saleya car park is five minutes away.
Can we eat at the counter?
Yes, six seats facing the oven, to watch the pizzas go in and out. Ask for them when you book.
How does the scuola work?
On the first Sunday of the month, at ten, for eight people: knead, stretch, top, then lunch on your own pizza. Dates go up on our Instagram, @fumarola.nice.
Do you do takeaway?
No: a Neapolitan pizza is meant to be eaten within a minute of leaving the oven. We only serve at the table.
How can I pay?
By card or in cash.
Can we come as a group?
Yes: the long table seats fourteen, and the whole vaulted room opens for you on Mondays. See the Groups page.
What are your hours?
Evenings from Tuesday to Sunday, and lunch too from Friday to Sunday. We’re closed on Mondays.
Do you offer wine pairings?
Yes: the degustazione comes with a glass chosen by Hélène for each pizza. For the à la carte menu, ask her at the table.
Can I give a meal as a gift?
Yes, with a gift voucher for the degustazione or for a place at the scuola. Ask for one by phone or e-mail and we’ll send it the same day.
